Windows Defender Security Center comes pre-installed with Windows 10 and Windows 11, and it's ready to use once you start your device. However, you can customize its settings to suit your needs. Here’s how to set up and optimize Windows Defender Security Center:

1. Open Windows Defender Security Center:

Click the Start menu and search for "Windows Security."
Select Windows Security from the search results.

2. Check Security Status:

The main screen of Windows Security will show the current status of your device's protection. You can see if real-time protection is on, if the device is up to date, and if there are any immediate actions needed.

3. Run a Scan:

To manually scan for malware, click on "Virus & Threat Protection" and choose from options like Quick Scan, Full Scan, or Custom Scan.

4. Adjust Settings:

To customize your settings, click on Virus & Threat Protection Settings and adjust settings like real-time protection, cloud-delivered protection, and automatic sample submission.

5. Update Virus Definitions:

Ensure that Windows Defender Security Center is regularly updated by selecting Check for Updates under the update settings.
